I Want to Be a Ballist!

That's great!  We'd be thrilled to have you on the club.  You might be a slow pitch softball player, or maybe even an adult league baseball player.  You could even be a person looking to get more active.  Well, you can be any of these things, and you can play base ball with the Excelsior!   The beauty of vintage base ball is that you don't have to be an ex-standout.  Everyone can get good because the emphasis in those days was letting the striker put the ball in to play and letting the defense play.  Some of the rules defensively are also favorable, as balls caught on the bound (one bounce) are an out, etc.   All that we require is that you be over 18 years of age, and have an enthusiasm for the game and its history. 

I Don't Think I Can Be a Ballist.

That's perfectly alright.  The good news is, you don't have to be a ballist to be part of the club.  We will always need able bodied persons to act as support.  Arbiters (umpires), scorekeepers, grounds managers, etc.  And of course, we could always use loyal cranks (fans)!  So don't think you can't be a supporter or member simply because you can't play.  You can, and it can become a family experience, too!
